Dissenting interests and expectations are part of
our private and professional routine. Most of it can be resolved by just
talking about it and only a few of these discords will turn into a real
conflict that needs professional advice. - Nevertheless conflicts arise
and the persons involved might not be able to solve their dispute. In
cases like this it is worth trying to contact a professional advisor and
ask for support. Otherwise the conflict might even extend and the parties
of the conflict will submit the case before court.
Unsolved conflicts cause bad mood, they disturb and
undermine our vitality, and they tend to grow. For our very own interest
we are well advised not to endure unsolved conflicts and suffer, but to
try and find a fair and sustainable solution.
Talks and/or Workshops Depending on the conflict situation it might be adequate to start with
an interview, talk and/or a workshop. In some cases it is not necessary or
even possible to bring together all conflict parties. Conflicts often can
be eased if one of the participants actively starts to search for a
constructive way to solve the problem. A changed pattern of behaviour
might change the correlations and lead to the solution of the problem.
Mediation
Mediation is a conflict resolution method that aims at constructive and
fair solutions. Among others, the mediation principles are voluntary
participation, personal responsibility and fairness as well as
transparency of information and binding results. It is my part as a
mediator to guide the talks between the conflicting parties, assuring
balance and disclosure of all interests as well as mutual acceptance. .
Main application areas:
- family
conflicts (separation, divorce, heritage),
- school mediation, team conflicts
- environmental mediation, business mediation
Particularities of environmental mediation
Environmental conflicts usually result in large numbers of participants
and in complex topics. Furthermore the environmental impacts of a project
can not always be exactly determined and discussions may be about factual
issues as well as values. The binding force and the actual implementation
of the negotiated results are of critical importance if the agreed
solution results in public authorization procedures and/or requires
endorsement by a political body.
